I just love Fall, don’t you? Here’s a picture my friend Art took a few autumns past with my favorite flame maple leaves on the ground in the Highlands neighborhood of Denver. Or are my favorites aspens? SO hard to decide…
My good childhood friend Laura took this beautiful photo of aspen leaves of every color. I LOVE the mountains and miss them terribly when I’m not there.
My month in review has been a mix of hard work and required respite. I finished getting the record out to some press folks, some of which have gifted me with some very nice words (see the Press section for highlights). I attended Durango Songwriters Expo and showcased “Hurricane” for all the lovely folks there.
I also went to the oral surgeon and had some long overdue work done, which is healing quite nicely so far. Hence the required downtime. As a result, I have finished reading Julia Cameron’s “The Artist’s Way” and am digging into Pat Pattison’s songwriting books, and hopefully the new novel by Jeannette Walls. I love her descriptive Americana style of writing that just places me right smack-dab in the middle of the old west, or a West Virginia coal town, or…..?
Next, it’s time to learn a new guitar tuning and write some songs.
All in all, I’d say Fall is off to a great start. How about you?
